BELIEVE ME is an apparel company started by two women who were sick of the normalization of sexual violence. Their designs feature anti-sexual violence and pro-consent messaging in order to empower people and start a dialogue. Part of the profits on their "no means no" hats go directly to The New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault, an organization that works to stamp out sexual violence and provide support and resources for survivors. Part of the profits on their "consent is key" hats go directly to Project Consent, an organization running an amazing campaign to raise awareness about sexual violence and the importance of consent. They hope to one day live in a world where a company like believe me does not need to exist. Until ALL our spaces are free from sexual assault and violence, they will keep on creating empowering apparel. Show your support and purchase a hat for you or a friend! Written by CEO & Founder, Toro Adeyemi The Brooklyn Bazaar is an outdoor market inspired by night markets traditionally found across the continent of Asia. The Bazaar took place 6pm-12am on Friday and Saturday's from November 23rd to December 22nd. Inside the warehouse space were over 100 independent clothing, art, food and beer & wine vendors. Ping pong tables were set up for recreational use, and nearby was a space designated for some pick up soccer. Each weekend featured a different musical artist and if you were interested in paying, there was a restaurant and beer tasting on the upper level of the warehouse. The Brooklyn Bazaar is a magical event filled with constant activity and opportunities to engage with local vendors and other New Yorkers (or anyone from out of state!). If you didn't get a chance this year, make sure you check out our photos here. Written by CEO & Founder, Toro Adeyemi Williamsburg Brooklyn hosts Etsy's Holiday Handmade Cavalcade, featuring over 35 local artisans, designers and crafters. Inside the location are a number of vendors with products ranging from hand knits to jewelry to chocolate! If you've spent some time browsing around, there is also a station for you to grab some tea, coffee and water. We LOVED getting free charm necklaces from Brooklyn Charm--it was a great memento from a great event. This guy is clearly pumped to be here. More pictures can be found in the Gallery~
